When you bought an incandescent bulb you knew that a higher wattage meant a brighter light. However, wattage really measures power consumption, not brightness. Lumens measure brightness. You can use the chart below to match the wattage of an incandescent to its LED counterpart. LEDs use less power and save money.
Warm lighting is similar to conventional lighting and has a softer feel. This lighting is perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Daylight - The colour of the lighting is used to represent ‘daylight colour’ indoors. It has neither the softness of warm white or the starkness of cool white.
Cool white - Is a brighter whiter light and is more suited for the bathroom or kitchen.
Adjustable Downlight & IP20 Rated
In busy and diverse rooms like the kitchen, dining room, and bedroom (those that double as a workspace also), you need a lighting solution that can keep up with all the space’s requirements. This LED downlight is one lighting fixture that can enable you to do so!
It's IP20-rated and has an adjustable gimbal that allows it to tilt up and down to a certain degree, allowing you to change the direction of the light beam wherever you need it. Unlike fixed downlights, an adjustable one lessens the burden of getting it right on the get-go, as you can still make adjustments even if the fitting is installed. So, if you want a flexible lighting solution to accommodate your lighting requirements, get this LED downlight!
Insulation Coverable
You can place loft insulation loosely over this LED downlight's rear because it's insulation-coverable. However, this is only permitted if you pair it with a GU10 LED lamp with a maximum power of 7w. Other downlight models will not allow you to do this, but it is a crucial step since insulation helps your home to release heat quickly. This will aid in lowering the warmth trapped in your space and reduce your electrical bill!
When it comes to recessed fixtures, don't cover them with anything until you read a statement saying that you can, or you have to ask your supplier or manufacturer to see if you can use insulation with your lighting fixtures.
Quick to Install - Twist & Lock Mechanism
Installation is a breeze with this LED downlight because it’s designed with elements that streamline the mounting process. It has screwless quick connectors for easy loop in/out to other fittings and is mains powered, so you don’t have to purchase a separate driver or transformer to make it work. All you have to do is wire the downlight directly to the mains circuit, add a bulb of your choice, and it’s good to go!
Just remember always to prioritise your safety and call for an electrician if you’re not confident doing the installation yourself. Although you’ll spend for it, at least you’re confident that your lights are mounted correctly, and you’re safe!
Works with a GU10 Bulb
You can use any GU10 bulb with this LED downlight because it’s made with a GU10 lamp holder. However, since it’s a dimmable fixture, using a dimmable GU10 bulb and pairing it with a compatible dimmer switch will enable you to utilise its dimming function!
As for the GU10 bulb, it’s available in cool white, natural white, and warm white light. Cool white and natural white are both ideal for task lighting because their brightness creates a work-conducive atmosphere. The only difference between the two is cool white has a crisp bluish tone, while natural white has no hints of blue or yellow. Alternatively, warm white light is suitable for ambient lighting because its yellowish shade can create a relaxing environment!
Fire Rated to 30, 60 and 90 Minutes; Suitable for Solid, Web, and I-Joist Ceilings
This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes of protection for solid joist ceilings and suits web and I-joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection. This means the hole you cut to install your lights is resealed, and your ceiling is reinforced to extend the time when the fire will spread. A fire-rated downlight is able to do this because it’s designed with an intumescent pad that activates at a specific temperature, blocking all the tiny gaps where fire may pass through.
In addition, fire-rated downlights can give you and your family more time to escape and lessen the damage to your home’s structure. So, if you want to ensure that you live in a fire-protected space, replace your non-fire-rated fixtures with this LED downlight!
Open Can Design & Beautiful Brushed Chrome Bezel
Thanks to its stunning brushed chrome bezel, this LED downlight can match any design scheme, whether traditional, modern or a mix of the two! It can flawlessly blend in with your decor and furniture pieces, so you don’t have to worry about it looking out of place! If you love styling your home and constantly changing it every season, having a neutral base will give you more flexibility. So, incorporate this LED downlight into your neutral base for more freedom with your future design options!
Furthermore, this LED downlight has an open-can design, which makes it more beneficial. Its improved cooling system will ensure that the GU10 bulb you use with it lasts throughout its comprehensive average lifespan!
