LED Light Sheets

Lighting technology has progressed dramatically since its inception. It has grown from a functional artificial light source to an integral part of interior design. One notable innovation is LED sheet lights!

Similar to an LED strip, LED light sheets are flexible, versatile lighting solutions that can easily be shaped into different forms. If a strip light is like a singular strand, an LED sheet is like multiple stands attached together. It's a powerhouse that can cater to many applications, rival different artificial lighting, and win single-handedly!

Typically, this fitting is associated with commercial lighting, making a show-stopper window display or attention-grabbing lightboxes and signage. Nevertheless, it can adapt to residential installations, such as decorative lighting in the living room or backlighting for cupboards and pantries!

In our well-thought selection, we showcase 250mm by 500mm LED sheets in different colour temperatures (2700K, 4000K, 6000K). Each 24v DC LED light panel sheet holds 512 LED chips and boasts a 90 CRI rating.

Our sheet lights are compatible with our wide array of remote controls and dimmers, as well as our massive collections of LED drivers (standard non-dimmable, dimmable, and Dali dimmable).

What is an LED light sheet?

An LED sheet light is a thin, paper-like sheet with multitudes of LED chips embedded across the entire surface. This exquisite lighting solution is designed for uniform, bright luminance and is generally used for backlighting signages and creating lightbox displays.

Bearing the same qualities as LED strip lights, an LED sheet is also cuttable and linkable. You can trim it to the shape you want and attach multiple sheets together to achieve the design you prepared for your project. Some main characteristics of an LED sheet are as follows:

Versatile

With their flexible nature, LED light sheets can bend to conform to non-flat surfaces. They can also be trimmed to the configuration you want, provided you cut within the designated cutting marks.

Even Illumination

An LED sheet can evenly distribute luminance over its extensive surface area. This is a novel feature because it gives balanced coverage throughout the space, helping eliminate unnecessary shadows and glares.

Cost Effective

LED sheets are powered by LED technology. Because of this, they have unrivalled energy efficiency and extended lifespan. As a result, if you use this lighting solution, you gain more energy savings and reduce your maintenance costs.

Where can I use LED sheet lights?

When thinking about using a massive sheet filled with LEDs, what comes to mind? Sheet lights are perfect for applications where thin, flexible, and easily customisable lighting is necessary. This includes lightboxes, backlighting for collection displays, store signage, under-cabinet lighting, architectural lighting, art installations, trade show booth lighting, custom design lighting, and more.

It also makes an excellent partner in crime for curved surfaces like posts and pillars and unique ceiling designs.

Features and benefits of using LED light sheet panels

Besides its unique design, which will get you 50% on board, here are its other key features and benefits, which will make you 100% sold!

Key Features:

  • Slim and Flexible: It's as thin and as flexible as a sheet of paper, allowing easy accommodation to different surfaces, shapes and contours.
  • Colour Variety: It's available in different RGB colours and colour temperatures, catering to diverse lighting needs.
  • Easy Installation: It's cuttable to the size you need and has a simple mounting process.

Benefits:

  • Energy Savings: As mentioned, LED technology efficiently converts power to light, allowing it to produce exceptional luminance at a fraction of what traditional fixtures require. This leads to significant energy savings and lowered electrical charges.
  • Longer Lifespan: LED sheets can live for about 50,000 hours, which is much longer than a conventional fitting. Because of this, you can fully capitalise on the lightboxes or signages you make!
  • Low Maintenance: Once mounted, this lighting solution requires minimal care. Just check it now and then to ensure nothing is amiss.
  • Design Adaptability: Because of their flexibility, you can use them in various creative lighting techniques, such as backlighting, constructing lightboxes and signage, and accentuating architectural features!
  • Environmental Friendly: It produces minimal heat, harnesses less energy, lasts long, and does not contain toxic chemicals.
  • Dimming Capacity: Sheet lights can be dimmed with the correct lighting accessory. This feature allows you to adjust the intensity to adapt to your requirements. It also makes the fitting even more energy-saving and long-lasting.
  • Long-Term Investment: While they may have a higher upfront cost, they are much more affordable to use in the long run. The continued operation of an LED light sheet costs much less than a conventional light fixture.

How to install LED Light Sheets?

Installing an LED sheet light is a walk in the park. You only need to clean the surface where you plan to attach the sheet, peel the cover from the adhesive backing, and stick it securely on the selected spot.

While most LED sheets have an adhesive backing, it's best to read the product description and technical specifications of the model you want. That way, you won't be surprised when it's time to install. Also, never proceed without reading the product manual and the manufacturer's installation manual. These specific points are necessary to ensure correct mounting and usage of the lights.

For a more detailed general guideline, please refer to the directions below:

  • Step One: Clean the Surface. Wipe all the dust, dirt, and oil off the surface to ensure optimal adhesion of the sheet light.
  • Step Two: Measure and Cut. Take the necessary measurements and cut the sheet to the desired size. Trim within the provided cutting lines only.
  • Step Three: Peel and Stick. Peel the cover of the adhesive and attach it to the prepared surface.
  • Step Four: Wiring. Connect the appropriate LED driver and your preferred controller to the LED light sheet. Then, sit back, relax, and appreciate your stunning lights!

While the process is relatively straightforward, and you can DIY, it's still crucial to prioritise safety. We suggest calling an electrician to guarantee everything is installed correctly and professionally.
