Delivery Information

What couriers do we use to ship your order?

We dispatch all of our customer orders using well-known delivery companies. Currently, we will use Royal Mail and FedEx.

FedEx, in particular, will be used for both higher-value orders and/or items that are classified as long in length, such as those exceeding 610 mm in length. Royal Mail will not accept any items that exceed 610mm in length.

Our regular shipping days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

If you select next-day delivery during checkout, please note that only orders received before 3 pm are shipped on the same day. We do not ship on weekends or bank holidays.

Couriers such as Royal Mail deliver on weekends in some postcode areas. Royal Mail will deliver on Saturdays and Sundays, but in some postcode areas, delivery may only occur on Saturdays.

For clarification, FedEx classifies a working day as Monday to Friday, and therefore, if your order is to be shipped via FedEx on a Friday, it will not arrive until Monday.

Delivery (Shipping) Costs

For customers residing in mainland UK, our delivery costs are straightforward.

We offer free standard delivery on any order of £75 and above.

Are there any exclusions for Next Day Delivery?

The only exclusions are usually products which are made to order. Such as Neon Flex, cut-to-size LED Strip Lighting. Any products which are cut to measure require a degree of manual work, such as soldering and applying glue for waterproof products to dry. Therefore, neon flex and cut-to-size LED strip lighting isn't guaranteed for next-day delivery.

Whilst, of course, we will do everything we can to try and make it happen, we don't want to overpromise!

* We also want to mention that we do not work for Royal Mail, FedEx, or any other courier. Whilst we will select the following day delivery method at the point of dispatch, we cannot guarantee this. Couriers make mistakes, and it happens extremely rarely, but occasionally we do hear from our customers that an order shipped for the next day has taken two days to arrive.

Although the above is not a regular occurrence, it can happen, and SimpleLighting.co.uk cannot be held responsible for any errors or delays caused by third-party couriers.

Remote (Non-Mainland) Delivery Costs

For customers who are classed as living in Remote postcode regions, listed below:

Whilst we do our best to minimise your delivery costs, we have no choice but to pass on to you the charges we incur from FedEx.

If your order is under 610mm in length, we do not charge you anything extra.

However, if your order contains any items above 610mm long (including packaging) we need to charge the following rates.

As mentioned above, please note that we do not provide next-day delivery to remote postcodes as a standard service. If you require next-day delivery and live in a remote postcode, we would highly suggest that you give us a call or an email, and we can see if we can assist you with arranging this, we are reasonably well connected and usually for additional costs we can arrange this if the order is received before 1 pm.

What if you receive a damaged item?

This is very rare. We can assure you that we do everything possible to ensure the goods leave us in excellent condition, and we also pack the orders extremely well. We use Air pillows, paper void fill, recycled cardboard, and bubble wrap on any product that we deem fragile.

However, the world isn't a perfect place, and very sadly, but also very rarely, we do see a product reach our customers in a broken / damaged condition.

If this happens to you, please simply notify us by phone or email, sending photographs and a clear description of the damage. We will then issue a replacement to you. If we require the damaged goods to be returned to us, we will send you a free shipping label or, where appropriate, arrange for collection from one of our shipping partners at our own discretion.

We are a team of understanding people, and we want to ensure that you enjoy your order for years to come. The only thing that we ask is that you report this damage to us within 30 days of receiving your order.
