When you bought an incandescent bulb you knew that a higher wattage meant a brighter light. However, wattage really measures power consumption, not brightness. Lumens measure brightness. You can use the chart below to match the wattage of an incandescent to its LED counterpart. LEDs use less power and save money.
Warm lighting is similar to conventional lighting and has a softer feel. This lighting is perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Daylight - The colour of the lighting is used to represent ‘daylight colour’ indoors. It has neither the softness of warm white or the starkness of cool white.
Cool white - Is a brighter whiter light and is more suited for the bathroom or kitchen.
Adjustable Downlight and IP20 Rated
There are two types of LED downlights: fixed and adjustable. A fixed downlight has a stationary gimbal that produces a steady downward beam of illumination. On the other hand, an adjustable downlight has a movable gimbal that allows it to tilt up and down, giving you more options regarding the trajectory of your light beams!
This IP20-rated LED downlight is an adjustable downlight, providing you with more flexibility when arranging your lighting design. You can use it indoors to highlight pieces of art you collected, display cabinets, memorabilia of your family, and other distinct features in your home that you want your guests to notice when they walk into the room!
Stunning White Finish & Open Can Design
Designed with a simple round bezel and a stunning white finish, this LED downlight makes an excellent addition to any interior design. Because of its minimalistic look, it blends well with everything, whether it’s traditional, rustic, vintage, or something out of the ordinary! If you love styling your home and constantly update it whenever you feel inspired, having a neutral base is better than going all out with a particular theme. That way, when it is time to shift to another style, you don’t always have to start from scratch, as you already have a solid baseline.
Additionally, this LED downlight has an open-can design, making it more practical. Its upgraded cooling system ensures that the bulb you use with it will last throughout its long average lifespan!
Straightforward Installation - Twist & Lock Mechanism
Installing this LED downlight is not a hassle because it is designed to streamline the process! It is mains-powered; therefore, you do not need to purchase a separate driver or transformer to make it work. After preparing all the tools you’ll need and plotting the placement of your fixture, switch off the power box, wire your lights directly to the mains circuit, add a bulb, and you are done!
Besides that, this LED downlight is constructed with a twist-and-lock mechanism that enables swift bulb changes and a large loop-in/out push-fit terminal block that allows you to install each downlight in series instead of wiring them back to the power supply one by one!
Fire Rated to 30, 60 and 90 Minutes & Ideal for Solid, Web, and I-Joist Ceilings
This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60, and 90 minutes of protection and is ideal for solid, web, and I-joist ceilings. This means the hole you cut to install your lights is completely resealed, and your ceiling is reinforced to extend the time when the fire will spread. With this, you and your family will have enough time to exit, and your home’s structure will not suffer extreme damage, given that there is an immediate response to address the situation.
When you trim a hole in your ceiling, its natural capability to act as a barrier weakens. As a result, fire can easily infiltrate it and travel throughout your roof and walls. Only a fire-rated fixture can restore this lost fire integrity.
Works with a GU10 Bulb
You can use this LED downlight with any GU10 bulb because it has a GU10 lamp holder. However, since this is a dimmable fixture, pairing it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch will enable you to use its dimming function!
As for the GU10 bulb, it’s available in three colour temperatures: cool white, natural white, and warm white light. Cool white and natural white are both suitable for task lighting. The only difference between the two is cool white has a crisp bluish tone, while natural white has no hints of blue or yellow. Alternatively, warm white light is perfect for ambient lighting because its yellowish shade can create a cosy atmosphere!
Insulation Coverable
This is an insulation-coverable LED downlight. What does that mean for you? This means you can safely put loose loft insulation over its rear! However, there’s a precaution. You can only do it if you use a GU10 LED lamp with a maximum power of 7w. Other downlight models will not permit you to put insulation over the fixture. However, insulation helps your home to release heat, decreasing the warmth trapped in your space and lowering your electrical consumption!
When it comes to electrics and lighting, never put anything over your lights and connections until you find a statement that says you are allowed to. It’s better to get the verification from your supplier or manufacturer so you’ll be safe.
