When you bought an incandescent bulb you knew that a higher wattage meant a brighter light. However, wattage really measures power consumption, not brightness. Lumens measure brightness. You can use the chart below to match the wattage of an incandescent to its LED counterpart. LEDs use less power and save money.
Warm lighting is similar to conventional lighting and has a softer feel. This lighting is perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Daylight - The colour of the lighting is used to represent ‘daylight colour’ indoors. It has neither the softness of warm white or the starkness of cool white.
Cool white - Is a brighter whiter light and is more suited for the bathroom or kitchen.
Pack of 50 Fixed Downlights & IP20 Rating
This LED downlight comes in a pack of fifty, which will help you kick-start your large-scale renovation or construction project! The downlights are individually tested to guarantee they meet all relevant British standards, and they have an IP20 rating! This means you are free to mount it anywhere inside your home except near water sources like the living room, hallways, game room, pantry, home office, dining room, bedroom, storage room, etc.
Besides that, this is a fixed downlight, which means you cannot redirect the direction of the light beam once it’s up in your ceiling. To avoid mistakes, ensure that you’re sure of the placement of your fittings before carving a hole!
Straightforward to Install! Twist & Lock Mechanism
Installing this LED downlight is straightforward since it’s made with features that streamline the mounting procedure. If you gather all the required materials, tools, and equipment ahead of time and review the product guide and installation instructions, you can expect everything to go smoothly!
This downlight has a twist-and-lock mechanism for quick bulb change and a loop-in/out quick connector screwless terminal block, allowing you to daisy-chain one fitting to the next in a series before wiring it back to the mains. In addition, since it's mains-powered, you don't need a transformer or driver to make it run. Link the downlight straight to the mains circuit, add a bulb you like, and you’re basically done!
Insulation Coverable
While there are insulation-coverable LED downlights, it's crucial to note that not every model is built the same. Therefore, it's highly recommended that you thoroughly check all the details and carefully read the product description and packaging. This step is crucial to guarantee that putting insulation over your lights is safe and allowed.
This LED downlight is insulation-coverable! You can loosely put loft insulation over its rear as long as you pair it with a GU10 lamp with a maximum of 7w power. Many cheaper downlights cannot offer this. However, it's a remarkable feature for lights as it helps quickly release the heat from your home, leading to a noticeable decrease in your electricity bill!
Works with a GU10 Bulb
Because this LED downlight is designed with a GU10 lamp holder, it can be used with any GU10 bulb. Just keep in mind that it's dimmable. To utilise its dimming function, you have to couple this downlight with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch!
The GU10 bulb comes in three LED colours: cool white, natural white, and warm white light! Cool white and natural white are both ideal for task lighting. The only difference between the two is that cool white has a crisp bluish shade, whereas natural white has no tints of blue or yellow. On the other hand, warm white light is suitable for ambient lighting because its yellowish shade can create a relaxing and calm environment!
Open Can Design & Lovely White Finish
This LED downlight has a lovely white finish that matches several design schemes, including traditional, contemporary, minimalist, industrial, rustic, retro, etc. Even if it is not included in your initial plan, this LED downlight can still blend in effortlessly with the rest of your decor and furniture pieces! You will notice that it looks as if it has been there since you first styled your home!
Aside from all that, this LED downlight has an open-can design, which is why it has an outstanding cooling system. This ensures that the bulb you will use with the downlight will be able to last through its long average lifespan (or even longer)!
Fire Rated to 30, 60 and 90 Minutes; Ideal for Solid, Web, and I-Joist Ceilings
This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes of protection for solid joist ceilings and is suitable for web and I-joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection. It means the hole you cut to mount the downlight is wholly resealed, and your ceiling is strengthened to delay the time when the fire will fan out!
Only a fire-rated downlight can do this since it’s made with an intumescent pad that activates when exposed to a specific temperature. When triggered, the pad then intercepts the small crevices surrounding the downlight, preventing the fire from passing through! You see, the fixture alone cannot seal those tiny cracks. If you want to ensure the fire protection of your home, get this downlight!
