This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60, and 90 minutes of protection (solid joist ceilings), meaning the hole you cut to mount this fitting is completely resealed. This reinforces your ceiling and prolongs the time when the fire will spread. Only a fire-rated downlight can do so because it’s made with a built-in intumescent pad that activates when exposed to a specific temperature. When triggered, that pad can block even the tiniest crevices surrounding the fixture, ensuring that no fire can travel inside your walls and ceiling!

Furthermore, this LED downlight is compatible with I-joist and web joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection, which not many LED downlights can offer! So, to ensure your home is fully fire-protected, get this fitting!

This LED downlight is made with a GU10 lamp holder, so you can pair it with any GU10 bulb. However, because it’s a dimmable fixture, we suggest using a dimmable one and pairing it with a dimmer switch to utilise its dimming feature.

The GU10 bulb is available in cool white, natural white, and warm white LED colours! Cool white and natural white are both ideal for task lighting. The only difference between the two LED colours is that cool white has a crisp bluish shade, while natural white has no tints of blue or yellow. Alternatively, warm white light is perfect for ambient lighting because its yellowish hue can create a comfortable atmosphere!

It's not safe to assume that all recessed fixtures are installation-coverable. So, unless it's stated in the product description, technical specification or packaging of the fitting, you should not put anything over it. Instead of helping you lower your electricity bill and protecting your home, this might be the reason for a much more significant expense and expose you to more hazards!

This LED downlight is insulation-coverable. Nevertheless, there's a requirement that you need to follow precisely. You can only put insulation over your fixtures if you use it with an LED lamp with a maximum power of 7w. Ensure you stay within this range because if you go beyond it, you cannot place loft insulation on the rear of this downlight!
