When you bought an incandescent bulb you knew that a higher wattage meant a brighter light. However, wattage really measures power consumption, not brightness. Lumens measure brightness. You can use the chart below to match the wattage of an incandescent to its LED counterpart. LEDs use less power and save money.
Warm lighting is similar to conventional lighting and has a softer feel. This lighting is perfect for living rooms and bedrooms.
Daylight - The colour of the lighting is used to represent ‘daylight colour’ indoors. It has neither the softness of warm white or the starkness of cool white.
Cool white - Is a brighter whiter light and is more suited for the bathroom or kitchen.
Open Can Design & Elegant Matt Black Bezel
This LED downlight has a slim profile and an elegant matt black finish! It goes well with many design schemes, including mid-century modern, contemporary, classic, minimalist, rustic, industrial and more. It will not have any issues blending in with your existing decor and furniture pieces! So, if you love updating the aesthetics of your home based on the season and need lighting that can adapt to your creativity, get this LED downlight!
Aside from that, this top-grade LED downlight has an open-can design, which makes it more practical. With its enhanced cooling system, this fitting will guarantee that the bulb you use with it will last throughout its extended average lifespan!
Fire Rated to 30, 60 and 90 Minutes; Suitable for Solid, Web, and I-Joist Ceilings
This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes of protection for solid joist ceilings and perfect for web and I-joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection. What does being fire-rated imply?
When you carve a hole into your ceiling to mount downlights, you weaken its natural fire barrier. Even if you plug the opening with the downlight, it's not enough to fill the small cracks. Only a fire-rated downlight like this one can repair the damage because it's made with an intumescent pad that expands when exposed to a certain temperature. This pad acts as a seal, blocking the tiny gaps surrounding the downlight and preventing the fire from spreading out.
Insulation Coverable
While there are insulation-coverable downlights, you cannot assume it’s the same for every model. If you want to be sure that what you are buying is undoubtedly insulation-coverable, check the product description or packaging.
This LED downlight is insulation-coverable, so putting loft insulation loosely over its rear is okay. However, you are only allowed to do this if you pair it with a GU10 LED lamp with a maximum power of 7w. Many cheaper downlights cannot offer this, but it is a necessary feature for a recessed light since the insulation will help your home release heat quickly. This will aid in lowering the warmth in your home and reduce your electrical consumption!
Effortless to Mount! Twist & Lock Mechanism
Mounting this LED downlight is effortless since it has features that simplify the entire process! It comes with a twist and lock mechanism (enabling you to do quick bulb changes) and push-fit terminal blocks for an easy loop-in/out (no screws required). With this, you can connect each fitting in series instead of individually linking them to the main power supply!
It’s also mains powered, so you don’t need to buy an independent driver or transformer to make it work. All you have to do is plan the placement of the downlight, trim the cut-out hole, wire it straight to the mains circuit, and add a GU10 lamp you like!
Works with a GU10 Bulb
This LED downlight has a GU10 lamp holder, so you are free to use any GU10 lamps with it! Just note that it's a dimmable fixture, and if you want to access its dimming function, you have to pair it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch!
As for the GU10 bulb, you can get it in three colour temperatures: cool white, natural white and warm white light. Cool white and natural white are both suitable for task lighting. The only noticeable distinction between the two LED colours is that cool white has a crisp bluish hue, whereas natural white has no tints of blue or yellow. On the other hand, warm white light is perfect for ambient lighting because its yellowish shade can create a serene environment!
Fixed Downlight & IP20 Rated
Since this LED downlight has an IP20 rating, you can only utilise it for indoor applications. It’s not water-resistant, so it should be kept away from the bathroom and other water sources. Nevertheless, your options will not be limited because there are many places where you can integrate this downlight! You can install it in your pantry, recreation room, living room, dining room, laundry room, hallways, bedroom, game room, home office, storage room, etc.
Furthermore, this LED downlight has a fixed gimbal. Once it’s mounted in your ceiling, the direction of the light beams cannot be changed. Guarantee that you plan and mark the placement of your lights before trimming to avoid errors!
