This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60, and 90 minutes of protection and is perfect for solid, web, and I-joist ceilings. This means the opening you trim to install your downlight is completely resealed, and your ceiling is strengthened to prolong the time when the fire will spread. With this, you and your family will have adequate time to escape, and your home’s structure will not be in unrestorable shape, given that the fire was quickly extinguished.
Only a fire-rated downlight can repair the lost fire integrity of a ceiling because it has a built-in intumescent pad that triggers when exposed to a specific temperature. When activated, the pad then blocks the small voids encircling the fitting where fire may potentially slip through.
Works with a GU10 Bulb
Because this LED downlight is made with a GU10 lamp holder, you can couple it with any GU10 bulb. But since it’s a dimmable fitting, using it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and an LED-compatible dimmer switch will enable you to take advantage of its dimming function!
