Automatic Dusk-to-Dawn Operation

Sometimes you need a light that you can leave running overnight. But it’s a hassle to keep reminding yourself to turn it on in the evening and turn it off in the morning.

The solution? Automatic lights. Yes, this LED bulkhead light has a built-in photocell sensor and switch that automatically turns the light on at dusk and off at dawn, so there’s no need for your intervention. (And no more need for switches!) That means no more waking up early in the morning just to turn the lights off.

And even better is that there’s no risk of accidentally leaving the lights on throughout the day, which can help you save money on energy costs.

Bright Cool White (6000K) Illumination

Bulkhead lights are great for illuminating spaces like corridors, stairwells, and outdoor spaces. That’s why having a bright colour temperature is essential for visibility, since that's what these locations demand. And with that said, this particular LED light produces a 6,000K daylight colour temperature that provides a crisp and clear light that’s great for outdoors or sheltered semi-outdoor spaces.

This high-quality lighting is thanks to the premium SMD LED chips that the bulkhead is constructed with. How is it better than a regular LED? Well, SMD or surface-mounted diodes use LED chips instead of diodes with long leads, which helps save space, allowing the LED chips to be clustered together. Meaning a brighter light output can be achieved. Something that you can't do with regular LEDs.

Energy-Efficient 10W LED Output

When we tell you that this photocell LED bulkhead light is energy-efficient, we mean that they are “90 lumens per watt” efficient. That’s right. By just consuming 10 watts of power, this LED bulkhead light is able to deliver a strong 900 lumens of maximum brightness. In other words, it doesn’t cost much to enjoy this bright light.

But that’s not all. The LED bulkhead light is designed to have a super wide 120-degree beam angle, which means that you don’t need a lot of fixtures to cover a large area. That’s right. You can say goodbye to unwanted dark spots and shadows in an area without breaking the bank.

Durable, Anti-Corrosive Polycarbonate Build

Here’s the thing about outdoor lights: they need to be durable if they are to last long, as most would claim. Thankfully, this LED bulkhead light has a body and lens that resist corrosion and wear. This ensures that your light can withstand the elements of the outdoors and will last as long as it claims to. (We guarantee it!)

The body is made of polycarbonate (PC), which is known for its durability, heat resistance, and impact resistance, as well as its versatility of application.

The prismatic lens? Helps diffuse light evenly, contributing to its wide beam angle. This also helps the bulkhead produce a smoother light instead of a harsh, painful-to-the-eyes glow.

Rated for IP44 Protection

An outdoor light needs outdoor protection. That’s why this LED bulkhead light is rated IP44 for ingress protection. What it offers is protection against splashes and small objects, which makes this light fixture best suited for porches, walkways, carports and similar locations.

We wouldn’t recommend installing this in areas that can be hit by strong jets of water or heavy rain, though, since the ingress protection level won’t guarantee the light’s safety. And we think that this is already a given, but you cannot install this fitting underwater. It's meant to stay in semi-outdoor areas, not submerged in liquids.

Hopefully, you weren’t thinking of using these as swimming pool lights. You weren’t, right? Good.

Long-Life Lighting with Reliable Performance

There are many photocell lights available nowadays that are solar-powered and come with a built-in battery. Those are great for saving on energy bills. But when you compare the performance with mains-powered lights, especially in this UK weather? The winner is obvious.

This LED bulkhead light needs only to be connected to the mains circuit to work. Installation is pretty straightforward, too, so if you have a background in installing lights, this should be an easy install for you. Although we suggest hiring a professional if you don’t have the certifications to work with electrical wires.

With approximately 20,000 hours of life and reliable mains operation, this light keeps working when you need it. This may well be one of the lights that won’t fail you.
