The problem with a lot of light fixtures is that they take up ceiling space—think chandeliers, surface-mounted E27 lamp holders, pendant lights, and others. Power Switchable (Choose Between 10W, 15W and 18W)

Wattage is not an accurate indicator of brightness, especially in modern LED lighting. While it was true that wattage indicated brightness in traditional lights, such as incandescent bulbs, with the LED fixtures, they’re now primarily used only as a measure of energy consumption. Lumens are the actual measurement of light output (a.k.a. brightness). However, depending on the lumens per watt output of your fixture, a higher wattage may still result in brighter light output.

This Discus LED Downlight features a switchable power option, allowing you to choose between different power levels with just a flick of a small switch behind the bezel. The power with their respective lumen output is as follows: 10W = 950 lm, 15W = 1350 lm, and 18W = 1500 lm.

Natural White Light, 4000K

Selecting the correct colour temperature for your lights is imperative for creating the perfect ambience for your space. Colour temperature is generally divided into three groups with different temperature ranges measured in Kelvin (K).

Warm white light (2000K-3000K) is great for creating a relaxing, cosy, and inviting atmosphere. Cool white light (4600K-6500K) is like a cloudless sunny day—bright and vibrant. Natural or neutral white light (3100K-4500K) provides a balanced light that’s great for task lighting.

This particular LED downlight features a natural white light (4000K) that’s perfect for high-activity spaces, such as kitchens and workspaces. The light fixture comes with a semi-recessed mounting bracket, allowing it to be mounted on the ceiling and even walls, provided the correct cut-out size is made for the bracket to fit.

The fixture comes pre-wired with a 30cm cable that eliminates a couple of steps in the installation process, saving you time and making the installation faster and more straightforward. It's mains-powered (230V) as well, so you can simply connect the cable to the mains circuit and you’re ready to go.

Impact protection (IK) rating specifies the protection level of an enclosure against external mechanical impacts. In other words, it’s the measure of how resistant a product (in this case, a light fixture) is to being damaged by impacts. The higher the number in the rating, the higher the protection.

This LED Downlight boasts an IK04 rating—it can withstand 0.50 Joule impact, which is similar to dropping a 0.25kg mass from 200mm above the impacted surface. The IP20 rating also indicates that this light is perfect for indoor use, but will not fare well outdoors.
