15W 24V LED Driver – Efficient Power for LED Strip and Under Cabinet Lights

You might be wondering, “Why do LED drivers also have a wattage rating like my lights?”

Well, the answer is simple: It’s to indicate the maximum load the LED driver can accommodate. This 24V LED driver in particular has a maximum load of 15W, making it the perfect driver for a lot of LED strips and LED under-cabinet lights.

Say you have 3W LED lights. That means you can connect five lights to this driver. Well, technically. But it’s always good practice to allot about 20% of the capacity for electrical surges. That means that the safest number of 3W LED lights to connect to this driver is four lights.

Stable 24V DC Output with Built-In Overload & Short-Circuit Protection

Here’s some lighting common sense: If it’s a 12V light, connect it to a 12V driver. Likewise, if it’s a 24V light, connect it to a 24V driver. Simple right? But still, many people ignore this and connect 12V lights to 24V drivers and vice versa. The result? Broken lights that could have served as good lighting for a few years.

That’s why, when you get this LED driver, remember that it has a 24V DC output, so only use 24V LED lights with it. We’d still tell you to also watch out so you don’t overload your driver, but it has a built-in overload and short-circuit protection, so you can rest assured.

Let’s talk dimensions.

As shown in the title above, this LED driver has a dimension of 101mm x 39mm x 19mm, which says one thing: it’s compact. This sleek design allows for a discreet installation. Being compact makes it lightweight too, which makes this an ideal choice for indoor systems. This is designed to be easy to install and integrate—something no DIY enthusiasts won’t pass up.

You’ll be working with wires and electricity with this, so if you have no knowledge or qualifications, it might be best to let the professionals handle the installation. Don’t get us wrong; we’d love it if you learned to do the wires and cables, but maybe not at the expense of your whole electrical system.

Includes 1m Mains Cable – Ideal for DIY Plug-In or Hardwired Installation

There are two ways you can go with installing this LED driver. The first option is plug-in installation, perfect for DIY enthusiasts. Instead of connecting the LED driver to the mains circuit, connect it with a plug instead. Find an electrical socket and then plug the lights in. Easy. Adding a switch is optional since you can just unplug the whole thing to turn the lights off.

The second option is a hardwired installation, a.k.a. connecting to the mains circuit. The LED driver comes with a pre-wired one-metre cable that you can directly connect to the mains system. You’ll definitely need to connect this to a light switch to control your lights.

If you wanted to use this LED driver to light up your outdoor strip lights, then you’ll have to find a way to install your lights outdoors while keeping this LED driver indoors (not ideal). That’s because this LED driver only thrives indoors. Rated with an IP20 ingress protection, this driver cannot be near areas that are damp, or else you’ll risk damaging it and maybe even compromising your lights and your circuit.

Indoors, this LED driver is a beast, capable of driving a wide range of LED lighting such as strips, under-cabinet lights, and other low-voltage LED fixtures. But all heroes have their kryptonites. In this case, it’s moisture.
