This LED downlight is fire-rated to 30, 60, and 90 minutes of protection, meaning the hole you cut to mount your fitting is completely resealed, and your ceiling is fortified to delay the time when the fire will spread. Only a fire-rated downlight, like this one, is able to do so since it’s constructed with an intumescent pad that activates when exposed to a specific temperature. This pad then blocks all the tiniest gaps around the downlight where the fire may slip through.
