This LED downlight is designed with features that simplify the installation process. It comes with a twist and lock mechanism and a screwless terminal block with push-fit connectors, lessening the struggles with wiring and adding a bulb!
In addition, this LED downlight is mains powered; therefore, you do not have to purchase a separate LED driver or transformer to make it work. All you need to do is wire your fixture directly to the mains circuit, add a GU10 bulb of your choice, and that’s it! Just always be careful and prioritise your safety at all costs. If you are not confident doing the installation alone, call for an electrician.
Suits a GU10 Bulb
You can pair this LED downlight with any GU10 bulb because it’s constructed with a GU10 lamp holder. Although, since it’s a dimmable fixture, pairing it with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch will allow you to use its dimming function!
As for the GU10 bulb, it’s available in three colour temperatures: cool white, natural white and warm white light! Cool white and natural white are both suitable for task lighting. The only difference between the two is that cool white has a crisp bluish tone, whereas natural white has no hints of blue or yellow. On the other hand, warm white light is ideal for ambient lighting because its yellowish shade can create a relaxing atmosphere!
Fire Rated to 30, 60 and 90 Minutes; Suitable for Solid, Web, and I-Joist Ceilings
One of the best features of this LED downlight is it's fire-rated to 30, 60 and 90 minutes of protection for solid joist ceilings and is suitable for web and I-joist ceilings for 30 minutes of protection. This LED downlight is insulation-coverable, so you can loosely put loft insulation over its rear. However, you can only do so if you use it with a GU10 lamp that has a maximum power of 7w. Many cheaper downlights are not insulation-coverable, but this is an essential feature for your lights because it allows the heat to exit your home quickly. This reduces the warmth in your space and lowers your electric bill!
Fixed Downlight & IP20 Rated
This LED downlight has an IP20 rating, so you can only use it indoors, away from water sources. It does not have adequate protection against liquids, so you need to be extra mindful of its placement. Nevertheless, there are many areas where you can mount this fitting!
