Dual Purpose - Door or Swipe Sensor

When something is stored at the deep end of your cupboard or wardrobe, it’s easy to forget its existence. Out of sight, out of mind! Unfortunately, you’ll waste many resources because of this, especially ingredients that go bad after a certain period!

So, how can you address this? Simple, add lights and this dual-purpose LED sensor! With this sensor, you can automate your fittings to switch on when you open the door and off when you close it. This system will enable you to easily see everything inside your cabinets, making everything accessible!

Remember that this sensor is dual-purpose? Aside from being a door sensor, you can also use it as a swipe sensor. You can pair it with your under-cabinet lights to conveniently access them even while your hands are covered with flour and batter!

Compatible with Many LED Lights

This sensor is suitable for compatible 12V or 24V DC LED lighting. Before adding it to a new or existing installation, check the supply voltage, connections and total lighting load. The listed maximum load is 100W at 12V DC or 200W at 24V DC; matching the voltage alone does not confirm compatibility.

Choose door mode or swipe mode using the switch on the side of the sensor. In door mode, opening the cabinet door switches the connected lights on and closing it switches them off. In swipe mode, wave your hand in front of the sensor to switch the lights on or off.

Ideal for Various Applications

While the kitchen is where you'll get the most use with this LED sensor, you can still partner it with various lighting fixtures throughout your home! For example, you can use it inside your walk-in closet, so when you open/ close the door, you don't need to reach for the light switch because it'll automatically switch on!

Say you have LED lights under your bathroom vanity. You can add this sensor so that when you need extra illumination, you just have to swipe your hands underneath, and they'll turn on! Even if your hands are wet, it's okay because you just need to hover over the sensor, not touch it.

100W (12v DC) or 200W (24v DC) Maximum Wattage

Choose lighting and a power supply with matching 12V DC or 24V DC ratings, and check that the connections suit this sensor. Add together the wattages of all connected lights and keep the total within the limit for the chosen voltage.

If you use a 12v DC lighting fixture, you can load a maximum capacity of 100w power. Alternatively, for a 24v DC fitting, you can connect a maximum capacity of 200w power. Ensure that you follow this precisely because overloading will not just damage the sensor but may also affect your lights. If this happens, all your hard work will be gone, so be extremely careful and review the installation instructions!

Two Mounting Options - Recessed or Surface-Mounted

Can’t decide whether to have your LED sensor recessed or surface-mounted? You don’t need to rush because you can do both!

If you choose to surface-mount your LED sensor, all you need to do is put it on top of the surface where you’re installing it and attach it. Super, easy! As for the recessed, although it’s still manageable, you need to note that there’s a cut-out hole that you must trim. Ensure that you follow that measurement precisely to guarantee that your sensor will sit perfectly against the surface.

There’s no issue if you decide to switch from surface-mounted to recessed. However, you’ll need to patch a hole if you ever want to surface-mount your already recessed sensor.

7cm Sensor Distance Range

This LED sensor has a 7cm detection range. You might think it’s very limited, but since it’s a door or swipe-activated sensor, this much distance is acceptable. However, if you’re thinking of other applications, like outdoor motion-sensor, this may not deliver your expectations. You will need a different type of sensor with a broader detection range.

Fortunately, we’re stocked up with various LED-compatible sensors that can accommodate your requirements. If you need your sensors to have a 360-degree detection range and angle, you can check out this PIR sensor. It can detect movement up to 8 metres and has a daylight sensor that can modify sensitivity depending on what you need!
