LED nodes are placed in intervals along the strip, which then results in the LED dots and the gaps between the lights, especially if the nodes are placed with a bit of distance from each other.

For a more stable installation, though, you can get a stronger adhesive than the ones pre-applied, use mounting clips, or install them in aluminium profiles.
