If you don’t, instead of enhancing the safety measures of your space, you will be exposing it to more risk.

This LED downlight is insulation coverable. However, before you start doing anything, there’s a condition that you must take note of. You can only put insulation over your LED downlights if you use it with a GU10 LED bulb that does not go over a maximum of 7w of power. While you can use a bulb with a higher wattage (given that it’s still within the downlight’s limitations), you won’t be able to use insulation if it’s over 7w.

Fire-Rated to 90 Minutes & Suitable for Solid Joists and I-Joists

This LED downlight is fire-rated to 90 minutes of protection, which means the hole you trim to install your lights is totally resealed, and your ceiling is reinforced to delay the time when the fire will spread (in this case, by 90 minutes).
