Our Favourite Christmas Lights!
It is officially “Christmas Week” and the team at Simple Lighting are feeling festive, awarding marks out of ten for our Favourite Christmas Lights locally.
Naturally, we take lighting very seriously…
Liverpool One 6/10
Officially the UK’s tallest Christmas tree, Liverpool One’s festive centrepiece stands 30 meters tall and weighs 23 tons. It was built using a 12-sided steel cone, 280 heart lights, 314 rods and more than 2,000 metres of cable to supply the power to illuminate the giant structure. Small cosy cabins surround its base so you can have a little break from Christmas shopping with a hot toddy.
If Liverpool One’s unconventional cone tree isn’t to your liking, you can wander around the corner to the beautiful traditional Christmas tree in the heart of the Liverpool Christmas Market. Located at the top of Church Street, nestled between the festive stalls offering a variety of food from German sausage to Scouse.
Chester’s Christmas trees are always a firm favourite. The main tree outside of the Town Hall illuminates the Christmas Market and is the perfect centre piece for the beautiful Dickensian Christmas scene.
Whilst the Grosvenor Shopping Centre opts for a more modern and chic festive tree, made up of shimmering baubles and glistening fairy lights.
Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet 9/10
The magnificent 100ft Christmas tree at the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet in Ellesmere Port features 100,000 fairy lights and 20,000 baubles! It weighs about 18 tons and contains 2,000 nuts and bolts. It’s so enormous that it took a team of twelve engineers to erect it! You can even go inside the tree and have an exclusive peek at it’s internal structure.
Manchester Christmas Markets 10/10
The jewel in the Christmas Crown! The Manchester Christmas Markets are the finest in the North West by far, located across 10 different spaces across the city, each with its own character and atmosphere. But it’s the dazzling Albert Square site that has stolen the show, offering mouth-watering international food, winter warmers and delicately crafted Yuletide gifts. There isn’t a more festive place to be this Christmas.
Isn’t it fun to get all wrapped up and go for a walk around the village to marvel at the local illuminations?
Well done to the residents of Bromborough for their tremendous efforts!
